People Power Party Requests Former Minister Park Jin to Run for 'Seodaemun-eul' Seat

Park Jin "I Will Devote Myself," Likely to Run for Seodaemun

The People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee has requested former Foreign Minister Park Jin to run for the Seodaemun-eul district. Although Park is the incumbent lawmaker for Gangnam-eul in Seoul, the Nomination Committee decided on a 'metropolitan area reallocation,' and there had been speculation about him running in Jongno.

On the 20th, Jang Dong-hyuk, Secretary-General of the People Power Party, told reporters at the National Assembly, "Former Minister Park also ran a difficult election in a new district during the 21st general election," adding, "This election is very challenging, and since we need to win, the Nomination Committee decided yesterday that it would be good if he could fight in Seodaemun-eul, which is considered a difficult district for our party." Park stated on the 19th that he "expressed his commitment to dedicate himself to the party's victory," making his candidacy for Seodaemun-eul highly likely.

Meanwhile, interest is growing over who will lead 'Gukmin-ui Mirae,' the People Power Party's proportional representation party, which is set to be launched on the 23rd. Regarding this, Secretary-General Jang emphasized that the speculation about former Innovation Committee Chair In Yo-han taking the role of proportional representation party leader "is not true." When asked if Kim Ye-ji, a member of the People Power Party's Emergency Committee, is being considered for the proportional representation party leadership, he replied, "We are considering several people."
