Coinone Celebrates 10th Anniversary: "Focus on Investor Protection This Year"

Coinone, a domestic virtual asset exchange, announced on the 20th that it has reached its 10th anniversary since establishment.

Launched on February 20, 2014, Coinone celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. As of February, Coinone's cumulative transaction volume is 452 trillion KRW, with a total of 2.93 million registered members. The total number of employees is 213, making it the third largest exchange in South Korea.

Compared to its first anniversary in 2015, the cumulative transaction volume has increased by 645,000 times, while the number of members and total employees have grown by 944 times and 25 times, respectively.

Under the banner of being "the company that best understands blockchain," Coinone has introduced the most pioneering virtual asset services. In 2016, it was the first in South Korea to support Ethereum trading, and in 2018, it was the first to offer virtual asset staking services, presenting a new investment method to a market that was then centered on trading.

Coinone identified "investor protection" and "blockchain innovation" as the key themes to lead the next 10 years. Since its establishment, Coinone has maintained a record of zero security incidents. Last year, it became the first in the virtual asset industry to win the grand prize at the 22nd Information Security Awards, the most prestigious ceremony in the domestic information security field. In 2017, it was the first domestic exchange to subscribe to the "Personal Information Protection Liability Insurance" and has renewed it annually since then.
