Open Call Until March 29... Free Topic for Realizing ‘Gangbuk Empowering My Life’
Up to 1 Million KRW Award for Selected Participants
Gangbuk-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is actively soliciting creative ideas from residents to be reflected in district administration by intensively collecting the "2024 First Half Gangbuk-gu Residents' Policy Ideas" until March 29.
The "Gangbuk-gu Residents' Policy Idea Contest" is a system where residents, as beneficiaries of administration, directly propose policies related to district development such as improving benefits, reducing budgets, and reforming unreasonable administrative systems.
The contest theme is creative opinions for realizing "Gangbuk that Empowers My Life" under the 8th elected administration of Gangbuk-gu, and ideas for district development can be freely submitted in all fields. However, ▲simple civil complaints ▲ideas belonging to patents acquired by others ▲already adopted proposals ▲matters unrelated to Gangbuk-gu affairs are excluded from the contest.
The contest is open not only to Gangbuk-gu residents but also to anyone living within the Gangbuk-gu living area. Those who wish to participate can apply through one of the following methods: Gangbuk-gu website (Citizen Participation → Citizen Proposals → Proposal Application), email, or mail (4th floor Planning and Budget Division, 13 Dobong-ro 89-gil, Gangbuk-gu).
Detailed information such as the proposal application form can be found on the Gangbuk-gu website, and any inquiries can be directed to the district’s Planning and Budget Division.
Submitted proposals will be reviewed by the responsible department and evaluated by the review committee, with adoption and grading decisions made around November. Grades are divided into Excellence, Merit, Encouragement, and Effort, with prize money awarded up to 1,000,000 KRW depending on the grade. Additionally, proposals rated Merit or higher will be recommended for external evaluations such as the "Central Excellent Proposal."
Meanwhile, last year the district adopted four residents’ proposals including ▲Expansion and restoration of the bare-foot walking trail on Uiryeong-gil (Encouragement) ▲Expansion of registration institutions for advance medical directives in Gangbuk-gu (Encouragement) ▲Small considerations for an ultra-aged society (Effort) ▲Is expensive landscaping the only value for children’s playgrounds? (Effort).
Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “We hope many residents will participate so that creative ideas contributing to regional development, neighborly bonds, and welfare enhancement can be realized.”
