Actress Son Tae-young's daughter opened up about experiencing racial discrimination abroad.

On the 19th, a video titled "Daughter Riho Surprises Mom Son Tae-young and Dad Kwon Sang-woo Interview" was released on the YouTube channel 'Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young.' In the video, Son Tae-young is seen studying English and having a friendly conversation with her 9-year-old daughter, Kwon Riho.

Son Tae-young continued the conversation by asking her daughter questions. When Son asked, "Do you feel popular?" Riho confessed, "I like being noticed. But if I get too much attention, it’s a bit uncomfortable." When asked if she had a boyfriend, she said, "I have a boyfriend, but not a lover. I don’t need one," which brought laughter. Son cleverly responded, "If you had one, Kwon Sang-woo might feel a bit jealous," showing their warm mother-daughter relationship.

That day, Riho also shared her experience with racial discrimination. Riho said, "When I went to school, a boy said, 'You're Japanian.' I think this is an unpleasant word not only for me but also for Japanese people because the correct word is 'Japanese.'" She added, "So I told that boy, 'That’s the wrong word. Go study grammar more and come back,'" sharing how she dealt with racial discrimination.

When asked if she had any worries these days, she said, "I’m curious about how people are made and what the future world will be like," showing a philosophical side. When Son asked, "What kind of person is mom in Riho’s opinion?" she answered, "Mom is kind and pretty. That’s why I’m pretty too," bringing smiles.

Meanwhile, Son Tae-young debuted in the entertainment industry after placing in the 2000 Miss Korea pageant and hosting the KBS2 variety show 'Ya! Hanbam.' She later made headlines by marrying Kwon Sang-woo in 2008 and gave birth to their first son on February 6, 2009. She also announced the birth of their second daughter on January 10, 2015, at 1 a.m. Additionally, they moved to New Jersey, USA, in 2020.
