First Support Project for Religious Groups... Funding for Cultural and Artistic Events such as Concerts and Art Exhibitions
250,000 to 1,000,000 KRW per Organization, Targeting Religious Groups like Churches, Temples, and Cathedrals in Gwangjin-gu
Applications Open Until the 26th of This Month, Expecting Communication Between Religious People and Local Residents Through Culture and Arts
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is promoting a public contest to support cultural and artistic events organized by religious communities and local residents with up to 10 million KRW.
This is the first project implemented since the establishment of the "Religious Affairs Team" in the Gwangjin-gu Culture and Arts Department last year. It was prepared to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and arts by utilizing the rich event experience and material resources of religious organizations.
The total budget is 40 million KRW, with support ranging from 2.5 million to 10 million KRW per organization for events hosted by religious groups. There are no restrictions on the content, such as concerts, gugak festivals, art exhibitions, or displays, as long as the cultural and artistic events can be attended by not only religious people but also many residents.
The eligible applicants are religious organizations located in Gwangjin-gu, such as churches, temples, and cathedrals. Organizations wishing to participate must submit an application form, an introduction of the organization, and a project plan to the Gwangjin-gu Culture and Arts Department by the 26th of this month.
If selected in the contest, the project can start from April. However, a certain percentage of self-funding is required, and items not directly related to the event, such as labor costs or utility bills, will not be supported.
The selection results will be announced in March after review by the Local Subsidy Management Committee. For more details, please check the Gwangjin-gu website or contact the Culture and Arts Department.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "This contest is especially meaningful as it is the first project conducted with religious organizations," and added, "I hope it will be an opportunity for the religious community and residents to enjoy communication through culture and arts and create a happy Gwangjin-gu."
Since its establishment in July last year, the Culture and Arts Department's "Religious Affairs Team" has played a key role in communication, harmony, and building a cooperative governance system with various religious organizations.
