Appearing on JTBC 'Newsroom' on the 18th
Reflecting on a 60-Year Acting Career
Actress Na Moon-hee, who debuted as the first generation of MBC radio voice actors in 1961, appeared on JTBC's 'Newsroom' broadcast on the 18th and reflected on her 60 years of acting life. She also confessed her longing for her late husband.
Na Moon-hee, who lost her husband last year, calmly confessed about his absence, saying, "(My husband) was an English teacher and used to nag a lot, so I usually disliked it, but now that he's gone, I feel so empty. The emptiness matches how much I disliked it." She expressed her sorrow, saying, "I was filming in the provinces for a long time and missed my husband, so I called him and said, 'I'll be back tomorrow, so let's go for a walk together.' But he couldn't wait for that day and collapsed while exercising on the street."
Having lived as an actress for over 60 years, Na Moon-hee said, "I started out of hunger, but it's still fun to wear clothes that fit the role and express myself." She confessed, "I still think I'm inexperienced and am doing my best even now. My mindset when I started acting hasn't changed at all. I hope I die without changing."
She also revealed her fandom for singer Lim Young-woong. Referring to Lim Young-woong's 'Sand Grains,' the OST of the movie 'Sopung' released on the 7th, she said, "The lyrics are amazing. I heard this song was made five years ago, and I’m amazed at how someone so young could contemplate life and create such a song." She added, "These days, I listen to this song when no one is around. The more I listen, the better it gets."
Born in 1941, Na Moon-hee is 83 years old this year. She has received much love for her roles in movies such as 'Harmony,' 'Miss Granny,' and 'I Can Speak,' as well as dramas like 'Jeonwon Ilgi,' 'Famous Chilgongju,' and 'High Kick Through the Roof.'
The recently released film 'Sopung' is a result of working together with fellow actress Kim Young-ok. The story depicts two close friends and in-laws who take a trip to their hometown Namhae after 60 years and revisit memories from when they were 16 years old. 'Sopung' is the only Korean independent/art film to surpass 200,000 viewers since 2019's 'The Resistance: Roar to Victory.'
