CU Box supplies AI facial recognition service in Vietnam... "Tagless Gate expansion"

CUBox, an AI video recognition specialist company, announced on the 19th that it signed a business agreement with VTS on the 5th to supply tagless gate systems to Vietnam's public transportation. VTS operates Vietnam's first bicycle-sharing service, 'TNGo.'

TNGo was introduced to achieve the city's sustainable development goals and improve the quality of life for citizens. It started in Hanoi with the aim of realizing a clean green capital. Currently, the service operates in six Vietnamese cities, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Integrated with other public transportation systems such as buses and trains, it has attracted over 6 million paid users. TNGo decided to adopt CUBox's AI facial recognition service to enhance user convenience and operational efficiency.

CUBox plans to apply the FRS (Facial Recognition System) to the TNGo application by April this year, prioritizing the introduction of face recognition-based membership services in the Da Nang area. Additionally, both companies intend to rapidly stabilize AI facial recognition-based services and jointly develop service and business models. Along with this, they plan to expand the tagless gate system into the public transportation sector.

The tagless gate system is a service that allows boarding and payment on public transportation using only facial recognition without a separate transportation card. It has already been activated in subways in countries such as China and Russia. CUBox has developed a next-generation tagless gate system based on facial recognition and Bluetooth BLE technology. Testing has already been completed. Through this project, CUBox plans to successfully establish the tagless gate system in Vietnam and then make a full-scale entry into the domestic public transportation market.

A CUBox official stated, “Through this business cooperation with VTS, we will verify the effectiveness of CUBox's tagless gate system and conduct various experiments to improve usability and convenience. Based on the successful case in Vietnam, we will do our best to ensure that CUBox's tagless gate system is successfully established in domestic public transportation such as subways and buses.”
