"Transforming into a Global AI Company"
SK Telecom announced on the 18th that it will showcase future technologies based on artificial intelligence (AI) innovation to the world at MWC 2024, which opens on the 26th in Barcelona, Spain.
In addition, SKT will expand its AI landscape to the global stage through cooperation with big tech companies as well as the global telecom alliance, the Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA).
This year’s MWC theme is "Future First." Over 2,400 companies from more than 200 countries are expected to present various new technologies including AI, 6G, IoT, and robotics.
SKT will set up a large exhibition space of 992㎡ (approximately 300 pyeong) in Hall 3 at "Fira Gran Via." Under the theme "The Beginning of a New Change, AI as a Turning Point," it plans to showcase telecom-centered AI technologies.
The key keyword of the exhibition is "Telco Large Language Model (LLM)." SKT aims to develop LLMs specialized for telecommunications and maximize the benefits for both operators and customers by applying them across various fields.
Based on the Telco LLM, SKT will introduce various application cases such as ▲virtual agents implemented with chatbots ▲AI-based spam and smishing filtering systems ▲AI call centers (AICC).
Furthermore, SKT plans to present concepts for enhancing functions of ▲the indoor and outdoor floating population data analysis system "Litmus Plus" using Telco LLM ▲the "AI Quantum Camera," which is applied in multiple fields including robotics, security, and healthcare.
At the SKT exhibition hall, visitors will also find the pet AI diagnostic assistance service "Excalibur," the media processing and content quality enhancement platform "AI Media Studio," and the bio microscope "Intelligence Vision" utilizing vision AI.
Additionally, AI data center technologies including next-generation immersion cooling for thermal management, AI-based various network infrastructure technologies, and life-sized UAM (Urban Air Mobility) for virtual experiences are expected to attract visitors’ attention.
SKT CEO Yoo Young-sang plans to visit the MWC venue, where over 2,400 companies participate, to promote SKT’s future strategies to the world and pursue cooperation with various global partners.
He said, "This MWC will be an opportunity to introduce various application cases based on SKT’s core AI technologies," adding, "Through ultra-collaboration with global companies, we will rapidly transform into a global AI company."
