Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the Jeongwol Daeboreum folk event in Yeongdeungpo Bon-dong on the morning of the 17th and enjoyed playing Yutnori with residents.
This event, a representative traditional festival of Yeongdeungpo District, provides an opportunity to experience seasonal customs that are usually difficult to encounter in the city, symbolizing a wish for happiness and safety throughout the year.
The Jeongwol Daeboreum event is held individually in 18 neighborhoods over three days: the 17th, 24th, and 25th, where participants can enjoy familiar folk games such as Jegichagi and Yutnori.
In particular, the Jeongwol Daeboreum event in Yangpyeong 1-dong on the 24th offers a variety of experiences and attractions, including burning the Daljip (moon house), fireworks, and hanging wish tags.
Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, said, “I hope this Jeongwol Daeboreum event becomes an occasion for residents to start the hopeful new year and wish for happiness throughout the year,” adding, “Yeongdeungpo District will continue to walk warmly alongside residents so that this year will be as abundant as the full moon.”
