Nakdonggang Watershed Management Committee to Hold Resident Support Project Briefing Session

Visited 12 Local Governments... For Village Representatives and Residents

The Nakdong River Basin Management Committee will hold briefing sessions on resident support projects by April for village representatives and residents of 12 local governments in Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam regions, where resident support projects are being implemented.

In May and June 2023, the Nakdong River Basin Management Committee held 'Visiting Resident Support Project Briefings' for village representatives of 22 local governments to explain the procedures, types, and other details of resident support projects, and provided a communication opportunity to listen to residents' opinions. After the briefings, there were inquiries from local residents requesting disclosure of project details and budgets by local government.

In response to these demands, the Nakdong River Basin Management Committee plans to actively promote the resident support projects by holding regional briefing sessions in 2024 for village representatives and residents of 12 local governments, including newly targeted areas and regions with a low execution rate of 2302.

The 12 local governments are Cheongsong-gun, Andong-si, Gyeongju-si, Ulju-gun, Cheongdo-gun, Sacheon-si, Hapcheon-gun, Jinju-si, Yeongcheon-si, Sancheong-gun, Yeongju-si, and Bonghwa-gun.

This briefing session will disclose the 2023 execution rates of the 12 local governments and related financial disadvantages (such as budget reductions), as well as the 2024 project plans. It will also include screening of promotional videos for resident support projects, explanations of reference points during project implementation, and collection of residents' opinions.

From 2025, for newly implemented resident support project areas, detailed explanations will be provided regarding project procedures, types, funding, and other matters.

Director Choi Jong-won said, "We hope that interest and participation of residents will increase through this resident support project briefing session," and added, "We will continue to strive to enhance residents' satisfaction with the resident support projects through ongoing communication with local governments and residents."
