‘Baksa Bang’ Jo Joo-bin Sentenced to Additional 4 Months in Prison for Forced Molestation Charges

Jo Joo-bin, who operated the Telegram 'Baksa Bang' and produced and distributed sexual exploitation materials, had his prison term extended by 4 months on charges of forcible molestation.


‘Baksa Bang’ Jo Joo-bin Sentenced to Additional 4 Months in Prison for Forced Molestation Charges Jo Joo-bin, the operator of the 'Baksa Room,' who threatened dozens of women including minors on the internet messenger Telegram and forced them to film obscene materials, which he then distributed.

According to the legal community on the 16th, the Supreme Court's 3rd Division (Presiding Justice Noh Jeong-hee) upheld the original court rulings that sentenced Jo and his accomplice Kang Hoon to 4 months in prison each on charges including forcible molestation. Their request for a constitutional review was also dismissed.


They were additionally indicted in April 2021 for threatening three female victims in 2019 to take nude photos and receiving them.


The first and second trials found all charges against them guilty and, considering the sentences confirmed by the Supreme Court, each was sentenced to 4 months in prison.


Jo was sentenced to 42 years in prison after being tried for threatening dozens of female victims, including children and adolescents, from May 2019 to February 2020 to produce sexual exploitation materials and selling and distributing them through Baksa Bang. Kang received a confirmed sentence of 15 years and is currently serving his term.


Jo is also undergoing a first trial for charges including sexually exploiting and raping minors in 2019, so his sentence may increase further.
