Nowon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is expanding the areas with public Wi-Fi installations. This initiative aims to help reduce communication costs by allowing anyone to use free Wi-Fi in public places.

The newly installed locations include a total of 62 sites such as Danghyeonbit-gil, Haneul Park, Indeok Village Children's Park, Gamnamu Children's Park, Dandelion Children's Park, Brain Lesion Disability Vision Center, and Daycare Facilities for the Disabled, focusing mainly on public facilities with high foot traffic and good accessibility.

The recently added 109 latest wireless devices support 'WiFi 6.' WiFi 6 is optimized for multi-access environments by improving connection stability, data transmission speed, and power efficiency, providing the best wireless internet quality without interruptions even in public Wi-Fi environments.

Service quality is also being enhanced by replacing outdated Wi-Fi equipment with the latest devices. A total of 128 old public Wi-Fi units have been replaced with an investment of 206.72 million KRW.

Nowon-gu announced that the total number of public Wi-Fi units installed in the district is 1,356, ranking fourth among Seoul's autonomous districts.

To use Nowon-gu public Wi-Fi, connect to the wireless network named ‘Public Wifi Secure’ or ‘Seoul_Secure’ in your smartphone settings. Locations of public Wi-Fi installations can be checked on the Nowon-gu Office website and the Nowon Smart City app.
