Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Lee Nam-cheol) is launching a full survey of elderly people who collect waste paper. The full survey will be conducted over two months, from this month through March.
This full survey will utilize local scrap dealers and human regional networks to identify the status of elderly waste paper collectors, followed by on-site consultations.
Goryeong-gun plans to identify the individual welfare needs of elderly people earning income from collecting waste paper and connect them with welfare services they have not yet received.
If there are elderly people collecting waste paper nearby, anyone can contact the customized welfare team at the relevant eup/myeon office or the elderly policy team at the county office's resident welfare department.
The secured list will be used for one-on-one in-depth consultations to link elderly people facing livelihood difficulties with senior job programs and support for households in crisis, following welfare service connection procedures.
Lee Nam-cheol, Governor of Goryeong-gun, said, "Through this full survey, we will identify elderly people struggling to make a living and ensure they receive welfare services," and requested active cooperation in the survey activities.
