Dongseo University (President Jang Je-guk) held an event to share the achievements of its work-study parallel program aimed at solving youth unemployment.
On the 14th, Dongseo University held the 2023 IPP-type Work-Study Parallel Program Performance Report Meeting at the Park Hyatt Busan, expressing gratitude to companies and students who contributed to solving youth unemployment issues through community and industry-academia cooperation.
The IPP (Industry Professional Practice) type work-study parallel program is a new industry-academia cooperation education model that resolves manpower supply-demand mismatches between universities and companies and provides field-centered education and training. This program is supervised by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
Dongseo University operates this program along with two advanced industry academy projects, and throughout 2023, 46 enrolled students participated in 20 companies to develop practical skills.
About 70 people, including representatives from companies that participated last year and new companies this year, outstanding participants, and university staff, attended the event.
Dongseo University also presented plaques of appreciation to nine companies?Corens, Dong-A Plating, Toas, Geotech, Kyungsung Industry, V-Dream, Mapsco, Intown, and Metaview?that actively participated in the program and provided students with on-site training opportunities.
Additionally, eight outstanding participating students were selected and awarded certificates and scholarships.
Jung Do-woon, Director of Dongseo University’s Work-Study Parallel Joint Training Center, stated, “Through Dongseo University’s specialized education, creative employment clubs, and NCS essential competency unit-based education, we will maximize the synergistic effect of nurturing talent across all industrial sectors and advanced fields in the region and fostering win-win cooperation with companies.”
