Interim Report Meeting on Design Service for Gonghang-dong Life SOC Complex Project Held
Jin Gyo-hoon, Gangseo District Mayor, "Will Devote All Efforts to Creating Spaces for Residents"
Jin Gyo-hoon, the mayor of Gangseo District, is working hard to expand the 생활SOC complex facilities, which are convenience facilities for residents in the old downtown area. The goal is to create cultural, sports, and daily convenience facilities that are lacking compared to the new town area, thereby balancing the region.
On the afternoon of the 14th, the district held a 'Gonghang-dong 생활SOC Complex Project Basic and Detailed Design Service Mid-term Report Meeting' at the district office's large conference room, attended by Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon and heads of related departments.
Previously, the district started the basic and detailed design service in November last year and, after consultations with related departments, arranged this mid-term report meeting.
The attendees reviewed the basic design plan developed so far and discussed ways to enhance residents' convenience by improving accessibility and convenience for actual users, and maximizing the space available for residents.
The complex cultural and sports center, which will be developed as part of the 생활SOC complex project, will be built on Gonghang-dong 687-15 and two other parcels. The total project cost is approximately 34.6 billion KRW, with a total floor area of 5,995.16㎡, and will be constructed with 4 basement levels and 5 above-ground floors.
The basement will include a parking lot, swimming pool, and climbing gym. The first floor will feature a kids' lounge, a space exclusively for children, and a book caf?.
The second and third floors will house a library, while the fourth and fifth floors will have a fitness center and an open-type gymnasium that can be used for multiple purposes.
Based on the results of the service, the district plans to complete the detailed design considering local conditions and resident demand by the end of this year at the latest. Construction is targeted to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon stated, “The space should be created as a resident area reflecting the diverse opinions of the actual users, the residents,” and urged, “Please concentrate the capabilities of all departments to ensure the Gonghang-dong 생활SOC complex project proceeds without any setbacks.”
