On the 14th, Gyeongnam Nonghyup held the first Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam Livestock Cooperative Presidents' Council of the year at Hapcheon Livestock Cooperative, attended by about 20 cooperative presidents from the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam livestock cooperatives.
On this day, Kang Ho-dong, the 25th elected president of the Nonghyup Central Association from Yulgok Nonghyup, attended to congratulate the holding of the council.
During the council, a heated discussion was held regarding the enforcement regulations of the Rural Spatial Restructuring Act for livestock farms and livestock-related facilities. They also discussed consumer promotion events to stabilize Hanwoo and Korean pork prices and the promotion of the beef cow business through cooperative livestock markets.
The beef cow business contributes to stabilizing Hanwoo prices by proactively fattening and slaughtering cows to regulate supply and demand.
Director Jo Geun-su said, “I appreciate the hard work of the cooperative presidents who are striving to overcome these difficult times in livestock farming caused by the outbreak of new livestock diseases and the decline in Hanwoo and Korean pork prices,” adding, “Gyeongnam Nonghyup will also do its best in guidance and support to overcome the current crisis in livestock farming and to create a 100-year future for livestock farming together.”
