Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, is preparing a variety of tourism events to make enjoying Uljin more enjoyable and special in the new year.

▲ Uljin愛 GO BACK (Uljinae Gobaek) Event: Tourists who pre-apply for the Uljin-gun tourism guidebook and visit Uljin-gun can submit a survey and receipts used within Uljin. Based on the amount spent, they will receive Uljin specialty products worth 10% of the spending in different tiers.


This event, which features various high-quality Uljin specialty products, greatly contributes to promoting Uljin specialties and enhancing brand value. It also encourages repurchasing of specialty products, thereby revitalizing the local economy.


▲ Incentive Support Project for Travel Agencies Attracting Group Tourists: This project supports travel agencies registered in the travel industry that attract tourists to Uljin-gun, visit tourist sites, and contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.


Travel agencies must recruit groups of 20 or more tourists who visit at least one local restaurant and two paid tourist attractions. An incentive of 10,000 KRW per person is provided for a one-night stay, and 20,000 KRW per person for stays of two nights or more.


The incentives have been implemented since February and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The program may close early once the budget is exhausted.

Tourists visiting Uljin-gun can complete the course by stamping offline, and upon completion, receive a doll of Uljin-gun’s mountain goat characters (Shani or Yani) or natural stone seaweed, a Uljin specialty product.


The stamp tour is divided into two courses: Shani Course (Course A) and Yani Course (Course B). The Shani Course includes Jukbyeon Coastal Sky Rail, Seongryu Cave, Freshwater Fish Ecology Experience Center, and Maehwa Cartoon Street. The Yani Course consists of Wangpicheon Cable Car, Uljin Aquarium, National Marine Science Museum, and Bongpyeong-ri Silla Stele Exhibition Hall. The event is scheduled to run from March to November.


Along with various tourism events, the county plans to fully focus on increasing Uljin-gun’s brand value and awareness by creating differentiated tourism infrastructure and developing diverse programs, aiming to open the era of 10 million tourists.


County Governor Son Byeong-bok said, “We will continue to strive to establish Uljin as a differentiated premium tourist destination through building a stay-type tourism foundation, special experiences, programs, and events,” adding, “We hope many people visit Uljin and experience its charm.”
