Strengthening the Competencies of Care Service Workers
The Cultural Heritage Administration announced on the 14th that it will conduct specialized care training from this month until November. The training aims to strengthen the capabilities of care workers who perform regular preventive management of cultural heritage.
This year, the training will focus on four main areas: inspection (monitoring), minor repairs, daily management, and administration/accounting. A total of 2,038 trainees will be recruited, and sixty training courses will be offered.
A representative from the Cultural Heritage Administration explained, “For those with less than three months of employment, we have prepared courses tailored to their experience, introducing the understanding of cultural heritage administration and repair and care projects.” They added, “The curriculum was organized reflecting the results of a survey of past training participants, with a particular emphasis on strengthening practical training necessary for enhancing expertise in cultural heritage management.”
The training is hosted by the Central Cultural Heritage Care Center and the Korea Cultural Heritage Care Association. The former is responsible for user training on the Integrated Management System for National Subsidies (basic subsidy grant and application) as well as planning and organizational management. The latter focuses on practical basics for monitoring and repairing cultural heritage by type and material.
