Incheon City to Support Injury Insurance for Young Military Service Members from March... 16,000 Beneficiaries

Incheon City will support the enrollment of active-duty military personnel in accident insurance starting from March.

On the 14th, the city announced that it will support accident insurance enrollment to enhance the pride of young people from Incheon serving in the military and to establish a social security network.

Active-duty young people registered in Incheon (active soldiers, full-time reservists) will be automatically enrolled in accident insurance upon starting their military service without any separate enrollment procedures. The city expects about 16,000 young people from Incheon serving in the military to benefit from this.

Support will be provided for 11 items including death, aftereffects, and daily hospitalization allowance caused by injury or illness occurring during military service, including leave or outings, and duplicate compensation is possible regardless of other insurance enrollments.

To claim insurance benefits, military personnel must submit an application form and required documents to the insurance company within three years from the date of the accident. Incheon City plans to finalize the coverage items and amounts through a contract with the insurance company and start the insurance from next month.

An official from Incheon City stated, "We will help young people focus on their military duties without worries through accident insurance support," and added, "We will continue to expand the program to provide practical assistance to young people who dedicate themselves to the country."
