Geumcheon-gu Supports Unemployed Youth with Up to 100,000 KRW for Qualification Exam Fees

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will support the qualification exam fees up to 100,000 KRW for unemployed (non-startup) youth aged 19 to 39 residing in Geumcheon-gu until November 29.

This project is promoted to alleviate the economic burden of job-seeking activities for unemployed youth and to support activities that develop employment skills. The district allocated a budget of 30 million KRW this year for exam fee support.

Actual expenses up to 100,000 KRW will be supported for one exam taken this year. Eligible exams include ▲ language tests (TOEIC, TOEIC Speaking, OPIc, etc.) ▲ Korean History Proficiency Test ▲ qualification exams under the Enforcement Rules of the National Technical Qualifications Act (based on Q-net), among others.

Applicants must be unemployed or have no business registration, aged between 19 and 39, and registered as residents in Geumcheon-gu as of the application date. Those participating in government jobs such as public work, short-term workers with employment insurance subscription of 3 months or less, or working 26 hours or less per week can apply by attaching their employment contract. However, those receiving support from similar programs such as the National Employment Support System or Seoul Youth Allowance are restricted from applying.

Required documents include a copy of the bankbook, resident registration abstract, and employment insurance qualification history statement. Detailed information can be found under ‘Notices & Announcements’ on the Geumcheon-gu website. Applications can be submitted through the job-seeking youth qualification exam fee support (application) page on the Geumcheon-gu Office website.

The district will transfer the support funds to the applicant’s account on March 20, based on the application date, after the first document screening and the second eligibility verification.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “I hope young people use this exam fee support as a stepping stone to pass the gateway to employment,” and added, “We will prepare support measures that provide practical help to job-seeking youth.”

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Job and Youth Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
