Following the 450m section in front of Bukseong Elementary School last year, a 350m section in front of Daesin Elementary School was established this year
Seodaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 13th that it plans to create a 'street strip green space' along a 350m sidewalk in front of Daesin Elementary School in Sinchon-dong by the first half of this year.
The district will plant various trees around the school commute routes to provide a safe and diverse learning environment and to respond to climate change.
This is part of the 'Child Safety Green Forest Creation Project.' Last year, seasonal flowers and trees such as hibiscus and pink velvet were planted along a 450m section of the school zone in front of Bukseong Elementary School in Bukahyeon-dong.
This street strip green space separates pedestrian areas from the roadway, enhancing the safety of school routes.
Additionally, it improves urban scenery and reduces fine dust.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "We will continuously manage and improve the street strip green spaces to create safe and pleasant school routes."
