"Building an Innovation Ecosystem for Social Change Acceptance"... Dong-A University, DAU University Innovation Performance Forum

Case Presentations from Professor Center, Library, and Museum

Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) held a University Innovation Performance Forum pursuing the establishment of an innovation ecosystem in response to social changes.


The forum, held on the 6th at Kyungdong Hall on the Seunghak Campus, was organized to share and spread the operational achievements of the University Innovation Support Project with campus members.


Divided into two sessions, presentations on ‘Outstanding Cases of University Innovation’ and ‘Outstanding Cases of Departmental Capacity Building Programs’ were given by project managers and participating students, followed by a roundtable discussion among practitioners.


In his welcoming remarks, President Lee Hae-woo said, “Over the past six years, Dong-A University has actively embraced the changes demanded by society and strengthened student choice through the University Innovation Support Project, striving to build an innovation ecosystem.”


He also added, “I hope this will be a meaningful time to share the accumulated achievements and cases so far and to contemplate together the direction of innovation we should pursue in the future.”

Outstanding cases of university innovation at Dong-A University included presentations on △2023 Student Customized Learning Support Program Practices (Professor Kang Jin, Center for Teaching and Learning Development) △Library Reading Culture Program Operation Cases (Lee Hae-in, Academic Information Services) △Contribution to the Local Community through the Pre-Curator Training Program (Nam Seung-duk, Curatorial Research Department) △CORE Project Group’s Outstanding Program Achievements and Sustainability Plans (Professor Lee Hye-yoon, Humanities Competency Enhancement Project Group).


The presentations on outstanding cases of departmental capacity building programs were delivered directly by participating students.


Shared cases included △Nursing Department’s ‘Dong-A Nursing Dementia Supporters’ (Park Ji-woo, Kim Min-ju) △Department of Fine Arts’ ‘Local Revitalization Mural Project’ (Lee Yoo-jin) △Department of Public Administration’s ‘Preparation for the Mock Cabinet Meeting Competition’ (Lee Joo-eun).


Nursing students Park Ji-woo and Kim Min-ju said, “Through off-campus activities, we were able to meet elderly people directly and play a helpful role in the local community while also enhancing our major competencies in a special program.”


On the same day, students Cho Hyun-young (Department of Media Communication) and Kim Bo-kyung (Department of Political and Social Sciences) were selected as recipients of the ‘Innovation Talent Scholarship’ and received scholarships. The Innovation Talent Scholarship is awarded by the University Innovation Support Project General Council to students who actively participate in the University Innovation Support Project, demonstrate excellent results, and are expected to grow into future-oriented creative talents.
