Yongpyong Resort's Operating Profit Soars 14 Times to 21.4 Billion KRW Last Year... "Effect of Lusongchae Sales"

Yongpyong Resort announced on the 13th that it recorded an operating profit of 21.40493 billion KRW based on consolidated financial statements last year, marking a 1278% increase compared to 2022. During the same period, sales increased by 47% to 211.64759 billion KRW, and net profit turned positive to 9.07891 billion KRW.

A company representative explained, “Following the COVID-19 endemic, the increase in domestic and international group and general visitors has expanded the sales scale and improved profitability in resort operation sectors such as lodging, food and beverage, skiing, golf, and water parks. Additionally, some of the performance reflects the sales and construction progress of the premium condo ‘Rusongchae,’ which is currently under construction, resulting in a significant increase in operating profit.”

Last year, Yongpyong Resort’s condo sales business recorded sales of approximately 73 billion KRW, with the scale growing larger in the second half as construction of Rusongchae intensified. Since the construction progress will continue to be reflected in performance throughout this year, it is expected to bring high profits. The planned scale of condo and resort sales business by Yongpyong Resort through 2030 reaches 1.5 trillion KRW, indicating that such growth and profitability are expected to continue. Besides condo construction within Yongpyong Village, the company is also preparing to start construction of the ‘Gochang Comprehensive Theme Park’ in Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, and recently acquired a prestigious golf course in Japan to strengthen the premium value of its membership rights.

The resort operation sector also achieved sales of 138.5 billion KRW, a 9% increase compared to the previous year. The rise in visitors led to higher room occupancy rates and average spending per customer, laying a steady foundation for profit achievement. The company is promoting a new brand story called ‘Mona Yongpyong’ to transform Yongpyong Village into a year-round destination for leisure and culture. To this end, it has enriched the experience elements by adding new content such as the Balwangsan Cable Car, Skywalk, and Millennium Juniper Forest Trail, enhancing customer satisfaction.

Shin Dalsun, CEO of Yongpyong Resort, said, “Last year was a meaningful year in which we achieved a large-scale performance turnaround through stable performance growth and the successful sales strategy of the premium condo Rusongchae. We will continuously strive to develop new cultural content and expand the ‘Mona Yongpyong’ comprehensive leisure and culture brand nationwide and globally.”
