GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 13th that the limited-edition Monamhee Sanitary Pad Pouch, launched in collaboration with Monamhee on the 25th of last month, sold out nationwide within just three days of its release.


Monamhee started in 2021 as a store selling groceries and small items located in Jung-gu, Daegu. Their original character called 'Blping' gained attention with the release of the 'Blping Keyring.' Through this exclusive partnership with GS25 convenience stores, Monamhee has gained nationwide fame. GS25 reported that inquiries about restocking and even resale phenomena have occurred for the collaborative products with Monamhee.

In September last year, GS25 signed its first partnership with Monamhee as part of the 'HIP Brand Partnership and Development Project' and launched the Monamhee Sanitary Pad Pouch. Following this, the Monamhee Keyring and Monamhee iPad Pouch, released as Valentine's Day special items, were stocked in the first batch at GS25 stores nationwide earlier this month and all sold out immediately.


Starting from the 20th, GS25 will hold an additional pre-order event through its mobile app, Uri Dongnae GS, as restock requests and inquiries continue at GS25 headquarters and the Daegu Monamhee store. GS25 plans to ship the pre-ordered items within March.


Choi Hyun-jung, CEO of Monamhee, said, "Seeing the sold-out notice posted on the GS25 store doors made me realize that the Monamhee brand has risen to nationwide stardom," adding, "Thanks to the successful partnership with GS25, inquiries for collaborations from large corporations and various other companies have been nonstop recently."


Kim Young-jin, Head of Product Strategy Team at GS Retail, stated, "The success factor was discovering excellent IP and preparing meticulously over a long period," and added, "We will actively discover strong small and medium enterprises that can continue the second and third Monamhee legends, striving for win-win management and enhancing differentiated customer value."


Meanwhile, GS25 plans to expand the HIP Brand Partnership and Development Project into various fields to discover and promote well-known strong small and medium enterprises located in regional areas nationwide. Through this, GS25 aims to continue serving as a showcase platform that practices ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) win-win management.
