Geumcheon-gu Provides Up to 1.5 Million KRW Support for Outstanding Study Clubs

Geumcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced on the 12th that it will hold a contest for the ‘Outstanding Learning Club Support Project’ for voluntary learning groups (learning clubs) until the 20th of this month.

The ‘Outstanding Learning Club Support Project’ is being promoted to support the growth of voluntary learning groups in the region and to realize a lifelong learning culture that practices knowledge sharing.

The support target is voluntary learning groups active in Geumcheon-gu, composed of five or more adult learners (with at least 60% Geumcheon-gu residents), and registered as learning clubs on the Geumcheon-gu education portal. Unregistered clubs can apply after registration. In addition, there must be a plan for at least one community contribution activity during the project period based on the learning outcomes.

The total project budget is approximately 30 million KRW, and clubs selected through the contest will receive expenses such as instructor fees and material costs for community contribution activities like talent donation. The support amount will vary from 500,000 KRW to 1,500,000 KRW per club, depending on the evaluation results of the ‘Geumcheon-gu Local Subsidy Deliberation Committee.’

Clubs wishing to participate can download the application form from the ‘Notices & Announcements’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website or the Geumcheon-gu education portal, fill it out, and apply online through the local subsidy management system (Botaem-e) by the 20th of this month. The district office will announce the final selection results on its website in April.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope that the voluntary learning groups of residents will help create social value through knowledge sharing,” and added, “We will strive to realize a lifelong learning culture so that residents’ lives can be rich and happy.”
