Russian Ambassador to North Korea Raises 'Possibility of North Korean Nuclear Test' Again (Update)

Alexander Matsegora, the Russian ambassador to North Korea, said that if the United States continues to provoke, he does not rule out the possibility that North Korea may conduct a nuclear test, Russian Sputnik News reported on the 10th (local time).

Ambassador Matsegora stated in an interview, "If the provocations by the United States continue, and if they become increasingly dangerous, I do not exclude the possibility that the North Korean leadership may decide to carry out a nuclear test to strengthen their national defense capabilities."

Earlier, in an interview with Russian TASS News on the 7th, Matsegora also said that if the United States continues provocative moves in the region, North Korea might decide to conduct additional nuclear tests.

In this interview, he said, "This is clearly an undesirable scenario," adding, "But if such a thing happens, the responsibility will lie entirely with the United States and its allies."
