Riding the AI (artificial intelligence) investment boom, Microsoft emerged as the most gifted overseas stock among domestic investors this year.
On the 10th, KB Securities analyzed the stocks most gifted by customers through its overseas stock gifting service from the beginning of this year until the 6th, revealing that Microsoft ranked first in terms of transaction volume.
Tesla ranked second, followed by IonQ in third place. Apple and Alphabet A took fourth and fifth places, respectively.
Last year, Tesla was the most gifted stock among domestic investors, but this year it ceded the top spot to Microsoft.
Tesla's stock price has fallen sharply this year amid concerns over sluggish electric vehicle market conditions, while investor sentiment toward AI-related stocks, including Microsoft?which partnered with ChatGPT developer OpenAI?has improved.
Tesla's stock price dropped 23.7% from the beginning of the year through the 8th, whereas Microsoft rose 10.1% during the same period.
