Donation of 10 Million Won Expressing Gratitude and Respect to Student Volunteer Soldiers

Hoping for Warm Social Interest and Support for Student Volunteer Soldiers

Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant (Plant Manager Shin Yong-jun) visited Pohang City Hall on the 8th to deliver a sponsorship fund of 10 million KRW for the members of the Republic of Korea Student Volunteer Army Pohang Branch.

On the 8th, Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant donated 10 million KRW to the Pohang Branch of the Republic of Korea Student Volunteer Corps at Pohang City Hall.

At the donation ceremony, Choi Myung-hwan, Director of Welfare Bureau of Pohang City, Lee Chi-kwang, Managing Director of Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant, Lee Hyung, Director of Haksan Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and other officials attended, expressing their gratitude to the Student Volunteer Army who sacrificed for the country by delivering the sponsorship fund.

Director Lee Chi-kwang said, “It is because of the Student Volunteer Army who took the lead with patriotism when the country faced a crisis that we enjoy freedom today,” adding, “Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant conveys deep respect and gratitude for their sacrifice and dedication. We hope this event serves as a model so that many people remember their spirit and sufficient support for the Student Volunteer Army continues.”

Director of Welfare Bureau Choi Myung-hwan said, “We appreciate Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant for their interest and support for the Student Volunteer Army, and hope that the delivery of the sponsorship fund becomes a stepping stone for warm social interest and support for the Student Volunteer Army,” adding, “Pohang City will also do its best to remember and honor each member of the Student Volunteer Army who devoted themselves to the nation.”

Dongkuk Steel Pohang Plant has continuously carried out various social contribution activities for the local community and Pohang citizens, including support for typhoon damage recovery at local children’s centers worth approximately 70 million KRW in 2022, donation of goods to help neighbors for Chuseok in 2023 worth approximately 3.5 million KRW, and sharing blankets for winter worth approximately 5 million KRW.
