During the Lunar New Year holiday, 'Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest,' located in Sinam-ri, Baegun-myeon, Jinan-gun, Jeonbuk, is attracting attention as the optimal recreational facility to spend time with family.

According to the Jeonbuk Provincial Institute of Forest Environment, Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest will operate normally without closing during the Lunar New Year holiday from the 9th to the 12th. The accommodation reservation rate during the holiday period reached 99%.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, Daea Arboretum and the Forest Museum will be closed only on Lunar New Year's Day and operate normally otherwise. The Forest Museum's special exhibition hall is currently hosting a special exhibition titled 'Time of Weaving Water Threads' by artist Go Boyeon.

Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest is an optimal recreational spot with excellent surrounding views, located at 700m above ground on the slope of Seongaksan, where humans feel the most comfortable, below Cheonsangdemi Peak (1080m) to the east of Demisaem, the source of the Seomjin River.

Jeonbuk Province started construction in April 2007 as a space for natural experience and leisure activities and opened it in September 2012. The recreation forest is operated by the Jeonbuk Provincial Government and managed by the Provincial Institute of Forest Environment.

The recreation forest covers an area of 230ha (2㎢). Major facilities include one recreation hall with 11 rooms, 10 forest houses, 2 hanok-style buildings, a forest culture yard, a book caf?, a meditation forest, an observatory, and various rooms and convenience facilities.

The natural environment preserves 301 species of plants belonging to 81 families and 195 genera on Seongaksan within the recreation forest. Forests such as azalea colonies at the mountain summit, dogwood colonies in the alpine wetland area, and oak tree colonies from Cheonsangdemi to Ogyechi are spread out.

Demisaem, the source of the Seomjin River, can be reached by walking about 1.2 km from the recreation forest information center. The hiking trails, which offer forest therapy effects, are well maintained for 12 km, and the recommended course is Experience Demisaem~Cheonsangdemi~Ogyechi~Observatory~Seongaksan~Experience Forest.

Reservations for Demisaem Natural Recreation Forest can be made through the integrated operation management system, Supnadeul-e website, allowing a maximum stay of 2 nights and 3 days. Applicants can specify the desired date and room.
