Police Dispatched Due to Child Report
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 8th that they have arrested Mr. A (84) on charges of murder for killing his wife by striking her with a blunt weapon during a marital dispute.
Mr. A is accused of repeatedly hitting his spouse, Mrs. B (81), with a blunt weapon at a multi-family house in Bangnim-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, at around 9:23 a.m. on the 6th, causing her death.
Mr. A, who is taking medication for dementia, reportedly committed the act after having an argument with Mrs. B, with whom he was experiencing domestic discord.
Immediately after the crime, Mr. A injured himself with the blunt weapon and called his children home. He was arrested on the spot by police who responded to the children's report.
