Although Seol is a time that naturally brings thoughts of home, there are those who long for it but cannot visit. They are the displaced persons. Across the barbed wire on Gyodongdo Island in Ganghwa lies Yeonbaek land in North Korea's South Hwanghae Province. Birds freely cross the blocked barbed wire between the North and South, but displaced persons will only be able to long for their hometown land while looking at it again this year.
