Gwangju National Science Museum Hosts Special Astronomy Event 'Dalmaji Byeolmaji'

The National Gwangju Science Museum will hold a free special astronomy event, "Dalmaji Byeolmaji" (Moon Greeting and Star Greeting), on the 14th to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

The celestial bodies decorating the night sky this Lunar New Year include Jupiter, which has Galileo's four major moons, and a beautiful crescent moon shaped like a fingernail.

You can also see the Orion Nebula shining brightly in the Orion constellation and the open star cluster Pleiades, known as the Seven Sisters.

The program consists of three missions: finding open star clusters with binoculars, photographing Jupiter's four major moons, and viewing the moon's craters through a 1.2m large telescope.

Participants who complete the missions will receive a small souvenir to take home as a memory.

A representative from the Gwangju Science Museum said, "We have prepared a rich event ranging from binocular observation experiences to viewing through a 1.2m large telescope," adding, "We hope it will be a warm time to capture the beautiful moon and stars and create precious memories with your family."
