'Authentic Macho' Pickup Truck GMC Sierra 2024 Model Released

General Motors (GM)'s premium pickup and sport utility vehicle (SUV) brand GMC is unveiling the Sierra model year update. The price has been raised by 500,000 KRW while improving product features and applying new colors.

On the 8th, GM announced that the 2024 Sierra will be available for sale starting today.

The 2024 Sierra features new functions and options through the model year update. First, the 'Active Variable Exhaust System' has been newly installed on all trims. This allows drivers to experience differentiated exhaust sounds depending on the drive mode. In particular, when selecting 'Sport' or 'Off-Road' mode, the exhaust valve fully opens to deliver the authentic exhaust sound of the V8 engine. The previously optional smartphone wireless charging system has also been changed to a standard feature.

New colors have been applied both inside and outside. On the exterior, 'Indigo Blue' has been newly introduced, replacing the previous 'Pacific Blue.' Several colors such as 'Avalon White Pearl,' 'Tuxedo Black,' and 'Rush Gray' are offered.

Interior colors vary by trim. The 'Denali' trim continues to feature the 'Jet Black' interior as before. The 'Denali-X' special edition, prepared to commemorate domestic sales, comes with the previously optional 'Brown Stone' interior as standard.

Driving performance is also emphasized as a strength. The GMC Sierra is equipped with a 6.2L V8 direct injection gasoline engine producing a maximum output of 426 horsepower and a peak torque of 63.6 kg·m. It features a 10-speed automatic transmission and GM's proprietary Dynamic Fuel Management system, which is said to improve fuel efficiency.

GM explained that its proprietary all-wheel-drive technology, the 'AutoTrac Active 4x4 System,' and various selectable drive modes tailored to conditions allow drivers to experience excellent driving performance. Additionally, essential features for off-road escape such as a differential lock, 22-inch alloy wheels, real-time damping adaptive suspension, heavy-duty engine air filter, and heavy-duty exterior cooler are installed to ensure optimal performance even in extreme conditions.

The vehicle dimensions are 5890mm in length, 2065mm in width, and 1950mm in height. The cargo bed is large enough to carry two motorcycles. Notably, the cargo bed features GM's exclusive '6-Function MultiPro Tailgate,' which can be transformed into six different configurations depending on the user's needs.

The towing capacity, a major strength, can handle up to 3945kg. The standard features include the StabiliTrak chassis control system with sway control, an integrated trailer brake system that adjusts brake pressure according to trailer load, and a blind spot warning system that detects the trailer zone.

The price is 93.8 million KRW for the Denali trim and 95.5 million KRW for the Denali-X Special Edition. Both have increased by 500,000 KRW compared to the previous model year. Purchases can be made through the GMC website starting today.
