Samsung Electronics Ranks 45th on Fortune's List of Most Admired Companies in the US

The Only Domestic Company in Top 50... No.1 in Electronics Industry
Apple Ranks Overall No.1 for 17 Consecutive Years... Nvidia at 10th Place

Samsung Electronics ranked 45th in the 'Most Admired Companies' list selected by the U.S. business magazine Fortune.


According to the business community on the 8th, Samsung Electronics received a score of 7.56 and ranked 45th in this year's 'World's Most Admired Companies' ranking recently announced by Fortune. This is a drop of three places from last year (42nd).


Fortune evaluates companies annually based on nine criteria including corporate innovation, human resource management, efficient asset utilization, and social responsibility, surveying over 3,700 corporate executives, outside directors, and securities analysts worldwide to determine the most admired companies.


Samsung Electronics fell out of the top 50 in 2022 but re-entered the top 50 last year. It first entered the 'Top 50' by ranking 39th in 2005 and rose to 21st in 2014. Samsung Electronics is the only Korean company to be included in the top 50.

Among Asian companies, three including Samsung Electronics, Japan's Toyota Motor, and Singapore Airlines made it into the top 50. Toyota Motor rose 11 places from 36th last year to 25th this year. Singapore Airlines also improved its ranking from 31st to 29th.


Overall, global big tech companies maintained their top positions, with Nvidia's rise standing out. Nvidia, which produces graphics processing unit (GPU) chips that serve as the brain for generative artificial intelligence (AI), ranked 10th, marking its highest-ever position.


U.S. Apple secured the overall first place for the 17th consecutive year. Amazon and Microsoft held the 2nd and 3rd places for five consecutive years. Berkshire Hathaway (4th), JP Morgan (5th), Costco (6th), Alphabet (7th), American Express (8th), and Walmart (9th) followed. Walmart returned to the top 10 for the first time in 14 years. Moderna, a COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer, entered the top 50 for the first time at 37th place.


Among the total 317 companies listed, LG Electronics (6.76 points), LG Display (6.53 points), and Hyundai Mobis (6.19 points) were also included. This is the first time Hyundai Mobis has made the list.
