Visiting Senior Centers and Disability Facilities on Feb 5-6 to Deliver Lunar New Year Greetings and Encouragement
District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho States, "We Will Carefully Ensure Safety and Comfort Without Forgetting Our Teachings"
“In the Year of the Blue Dragon, Gapjin Year, may you receive vigorous energy, stay healthy, and achieve your wishes.”
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, visited senior centers and facilities for the disabled over two days on the 5th and 6th, ahead of the Lunar New Year, to check on the well-being of the elderly and disabled.
On the 5th, Mayor Kim visited three locations: ▲Masil Senior Center ▲Yongma Senior Center ▲Jangsu Senior Center. With a bright smile, he held the hands of the seniors and exchanged warm greetings. He urged them, saying, “Please feel free to share any inconveniences at any time,” and responded clearly to the questions and suggestions offered by the seniors.
In response, the seniors smiled brightly and welcomed him with applause, saying, “Thank you for thinking of the elderly and visiting us,” and “We are very, very happy.”
The ‘Masil Senior Center’ was transformed into a smart senior center last year by installing hobby activity facilities such as a smart table, a smart farm for indoor gardening, and kiosks for experiencing unmanned devices.
Additionally, the ‘Yongma Senior Center’ was selected for the Old Senior Center Green Remodeling Project and is scheduled to be newly renovated this year with improvements including exterior walls, roof insulation, window replacements, air conditioning, and boiler upgrades to ensure safe use by the elderly.
The ‘Jangsu Senior Center,’ which applied for the Green Remodeling Project at the end of last year, is currently awaiting selection results this year.
On the 6th, Mayor Kim visited the ‘Gwangjin District Sign Language Interpretation Center’ and the ‘Shelter for the Visually Impaired,’ warmly shaking hands with the users. He assessed the facility conditions and spent time communicating by sitting together and discussing any inconveniences and suggestions.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin District, said, “Above all, health is the most important,” and added, “I will not forget the guidance shared by the warmly welcoming seniors and disabled individuals and will carefully attend to their safety and comfort.”
