Polaris Office announced on the 7th that it has completed the app review for the ‘Polaris Office AI’ application on Apple’s Vision Pro operating system, ‘visionOS,’ and has started integration.
Released on the 2nd, Vision Pro is Apple’s new product form factor (physical appearance) in nine years, a mixed reality (MR) headset. Unlike existing virtual reality (VR) products, it features the ability to clearly see the current space while using augmented reality (AR) to facilitate interaction between the real and virtual worlds.
Polaris Office stated, “We were able to quickly complete the app review by purchasing the Vision Pro directly in the U.S. before its domestic release,” adding, “Thanks to this research and development purchase aligned with the era of spatial computing, we have been flooded with collaboration requests for experience reviews from numerous media outlets and tech-focused YouTubers.”
Currently, Polaris Office recognizes user movements and gestures to view and edit documents. The document-based AI analysis feature, ASK Doc, also supports voice Q&A. Having confirmed the integration, they plan to enhance features exclusively provided for visionOS in the future.
A company representative said, “Our goal is to be the first domestic company to offer Vision Pro-exclusive services,” and added, “Polaris Office, a cloud-based software used by 127 million users worldwide, remains accessible to existing subscribers even when new form factors or OS platforms are added.”
They continued, “Just as Polaris Office increased recognition and sales by transitioning from PC to smartphone, the launch of Vision Pro will be a turning point welcoming the era of spatial computing. The company will secure leadership through technological superiority as an AI tech company,” emphasizing, “Based on a decade of cloud service operation know-how, we will integrate AI to drive revenue and also excel in new technological areas such as spatial computing.”
Meanwhile, Polaris Office plans to develop killer apps using document technologies previously SDK-ized in collaboration with its affiliate Polaris ShareTech, following the launch of the GPT Store on the 11th of last month and the initial registration of the ‘Guide Chatbot.’ As generative AI becomes mainstream, they are seeking revenue growth through a technology superiority strategy as an AI cloud tech company.
