Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) held a groundbreaking ceremony on the 6th for the construction of the sports facility in Naman New Town at 2598 Namak-ri, Samhyang-eup.
According to the county on the 7th, about 200 people including Governor Kim San, National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok, County Council Chairman Kim Kyung-hyun, Provincial Assembly members Na Gwang-guk and Jeong Gil-su, and various other figures and residents attended the ceremony.

The Naman New Town sports facility is scheduled for completion in December 2025. It will be built on a 40,466㎡ site at 2598 Namak-ri, Samhyang-eup (next to the Muan Dasan Village government officials' integrated housing) with a total project cost of 33.7 billion KRW. The facility will have a total floor area of 8,210㎡ and consist of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.
The floor composition is as follows: △1st floor will include a swimming pool (25m, 7 lanes), an indoor surfing area, and a VR room △2nd floor will house a multipurpose gymnasium and a fitness exercise room.
The county expects that the construction of the Naman New Town sports facility will meet the demand for community sports among new town residents and serve as a central space for complex sports culture and leisure.
Governor Kim San said, “I hope the Naman New Town sports facility will become a public facility that fulfills the shortage of community sports facilities. Moving forward, we will not only build sports infrastructure but also support various sports activities to expand the base of community sports, thereby revitalizing the region and creating a healthy and happy Muan-gun.”
