Guro-gu (District Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced that it will create three bare-foot walking loess trails in the first half of this year to promote healthy and vibrant daily lives for its residents.

First, a 450-meter-long loess trail will be constructed along the cypress tree path in Yeonji Neighborhood Park.

The project budget is 500 million KRW from the district funds, and the loess trail will include facilities such as foot washing stations and information boards for users.

The district expects that once the loess trail is established on the cypress tree path in Yeonji Neighborhood Park, visitors will be able to enjoy barefoot walking while experiencing the phytoncides emitted by the cypress trees, achieving a twofold benefit.

At Onsu Neighborhood Park, Jatjeol District (Gaebong-dong 45-2), a loess trail of approximately 700㎡ will be created.

As part of the Jatjeol Park attraction project, the district will invest 300 million KRW from district funds to install major facilities including the loess trail, foot washing stations, and rest shelters.

On the 1st and 6th of this month, resident briefing sessions were held respectively for the Yeonji Neighborhood Park and Jatjeol Park loess trail projects to gather residents' opinions.

Earlier, in line with the increasing trend of residents showing interest in health activities such as barefoot walking, the district created a loess trail of about 500㎡ along Anyangcheon in October last year, which received great response.

Accordingly, an additional 110-meter-long loess trail will be constructed on Sodangil near Sinjeonggyo Bridge in Anyangcheon.

A Guro-gu official said, “As barefoot walking is known to be good for health, the Anyangcheon loess trail has become a popular spot attracting many visitors not only from Guro-gu but also from neighboring areas. We will continue to create various healthy walking paths that everyone can enjoy together.”
