MoEF Meets SMEs Directly to Resolve On-Site Difficulties... Launch of 'Junggi Express'

On the 5th, the Ministry of Economy and Finance held the first meeting of the SME Express at the Korea Federation of SMEs Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Regional Headquarters located in Seo-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City.

SME Express is a platform where the Korea Federation of SMEs and the Ministry of Economy and Finance meet with small and medium-sized enterprises nationwide to promptly resolve on-site difficulties. It was a commitment made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok at the SME meeting held on the 11th of last month.

The Daejeon area was selected as the first region for SME Express because it has many future-generation and technology startup companies playing an important role in creating future growth engines, such as the Daedeok Research Complex and KAIST.

Hong Doo-seon, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, said, "In the future, with the full-scale operation of SME Express, we will carefully review the suggestions and difficulties of SMEs nationwide and strive to provide feedback as soon as possible."

At today's meeting, SMEs in the Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungnam regions requested expanded support for the activation of ventures and startups, shortening the patent examination period to strengthen technological competitiveness, and support for securing research personnel for SMEs. SME Express will be held every two months, and the location for the second meeting to be held in April will be selected in consultation with the Korea Federation of SMEs.
