Gochang-gun Operates 'Comprehensive Situation Room for Lunar New Year Price Measures'

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 5th that it will establish and operate a 'Comprehensive Situation Room for Lunar New Year Price Measures' to reduce the burden on low-income households caused by recent consumer price increases ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The county will organize and operate five price countermeasures teams until the 8th to manage the prices and supply trends of 16 popular holiday items and to inspect compliance with price and origin labeling.

The price countermeasures teams plan to crack down on price collusion, false origin labeling, mixed sales, and illegal distribution targeting retail stores, neighborhood supermarkets, and large marts.

The county will conduct a price stabilization campaign to promote the use of traditional markets and fair-priced stores during the holiday season.

They also plan to promote traditional market shopping events in cooperation with public institutions and social organizations.

Earlier, the county raised the purchase limit of the Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate from the previous 700,000 won to 1,000,000 won.

By maintaining a 15% discount benefit when purchasing the Gochang Sarang Gift Certificate, they aim to stimulate local consumption activities and help increase sales for small business owners struggling due to the economic downturn.
