Crown Confectionery announced on the 5th that it will release a limited edition convenient meal product called 'Spoonable Jollypong Marshmallow Cup,' which allows consumers to enjoy the popular snack Jollypong by pouring milk over it like cereal.

The new product comes in a cup cereal form that can be eaten as a meal replacement without preparing a separate container. It will be sold in a limited quantity of 80,000 units at Emart stores nationwide until the 16th. Since its launch in 1972, Jollypong, known as the original "K-cereal," is being offered in a cup cereal form for the first time.

The limited edition cup cereal consists of Jollypong mixed with marshmallows and a lid with an attached spoon, which is folded together with the cup in individual packaging. Considering the environment, the cup is made from recyclable Green Shield paper that biodegrades within three months. It also features eco-friendly flexo printing using three types of LOHAS-certified inks that reduce harmful chemicals.

The Spoonable Jollypong Marshmallow Cup originated from ideas by Crown Confectionery’s new employees. The cup cereal concept, which makes it easier to pour milk that pairs well with Jollypong, won awards at the 2023 Packaging Exhibition and the Asia Packaging Federation (APF). After over a year of research and development (R&D), it was officially launched as a product.

A Crown Confectionery representative said, "We plan to introduce various products to enjoy the healthy pleasure unique to Jollypong more deliciously," adding, "The Jollypong cup cereal product will continue to evolve with diverse designs and convenience."
