Monday the 5th is expected to be mostly cloudy nationwide, with rain or snow forecasted in most areas.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 4th, very heavy snowfall is expected mainly in Gangwon Yeongdong, the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk, with some places accumulating significant snow. Additionally, rain or mixed rain and snow, or snow accumulation, is expected mainly in the central region and some inland and mountainous areas of the southern region.
In the southern region and Jeju Island, precipitation types may vary by time and location, with rain expected. Rain and snow will subside mainly in the central inland areas by late afternoon on the 5th.
The morning low temperatures on the 5th will range from 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs will be between 2 and 9 degrees Celsius, higher than the average (morning lows -11 to 0 degrees Celsius, daytime highs 2 to 9 degrees Celsius). However, morning temperatures on the 6th are expected to drop by about 3 to 7 degrees compared to the 5th. Morning lows will be between -5 and 4 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs between 2 and 10 degrees Celsius.
As temperatures drop, many places are expected to experience accumulating snow during the evening commute on the 5th and the morning commute on the 6th.
In the Gangwon mountainous areas, very dense fog with visibility less than 200 meters is expected in some places. Additionally, strong winds with instantaneous speeds exceeding 55 km/h (15 m/s) will blow across most regions nationwide.
Strong winds will also blow over the seas around Jeju Island, the southern sea of Namhae, the southern West Sea, and the southern East Sea. Waves in these areas are expected to be very high, exceeding 2 meters.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' across all regions.
