Rifla and 3 Others Also Receive Innovation Awards
Gyeongbuk Province Presents Appreciation Plaques to 6 Award-Winning Companies
Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, held a meeting at the Governor's Office in the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government building, inviting representatives and officials of local companies that received Innovation Awards at ‘CES 2024’.
The meeting held on the 2nd was arranged to congratulate and encourage the award-winning companies and to communicate by listening to the voices conveyed by the companies.
Gyeongbuk Province presented plaques of appreciation to six companies that received CES Innovation Awards, and related employees gathered in one place for a commemorative photo.
Six companies from the Gyeongbuk region?Midbar, Flow Studio, Repla (which won two Innovation Awards), Nature Glutec, AN Poly, and Cream?won a total of seven Innovation Awards. Among them, Midbar (CEO Seo Chung-mo) and Flow Studio (CEO Jung Ah-yeon) received the highest Innovation Awards.
Midbar’s entry, ‘Air Farm,’ is the world’s first air-inflated smart farm module that converts moisture in the air into water and produces water in real time. It supplies the moisture transpired by crops back to the roots, making it the world’s first system that can operate without water supply infrastructure. Since a container-sized farm can be easily installed indoors, this technology addresses food supply challenges in harsh environments such as disasters and wars.
Flow Studio’s entry, ‘Flow Lab,’ is a science experiment education platform for teenagers. Using this product, users can conduct 25 science experiments from the curriculum, including inclined plane drops, friction surfaces, flame reactions, and magnetic fields. The product automatically collects experimental results on the web as users change variables such as hypotheses and environments, displaying them easily in graphs. It also has a function to analyze data in the same way as professional scientists.
At the meeting, Governor Lee Cheol-woo presented plaques of appreciation to the representatives of the award-winning companies, listened to their acceptance speeches and product explanations, and warmly congratulated and encouraged them on their awards.
The company representatives attending the meeting requested continuous interest and support from local governments for corporate growth and leap, technology development, entry into the global market, and expansion of sales channels.
In addition to the award-winning companies, local companies participating in the Gyeongbuk joint pavilion conducted export consultations worth 48.8 billion KRW with buyers during the CES event period. Related follow-up investments and contract inquiries are continuing, raising high expectations for increased sales and entry into the global market.
Governor Lee Cheol-woo of Gyeongbuk Province said, “Our local companies attracted great attention worldwide by showcasing excellent and innovative technologies at the global exhibition CES. I express my deep gratitude to the representatives of the companies who brought honor to Gyeongbuk Province, and we will wholeheartedly support corporate growth and leap, global market entry, and technology development to empower them.”
