Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) has published "2024 Changing Geumcheon Life," which contains useful living information for residents to know in the new year.
This year, the district has prepared new and diverse policies to make Geumcheon a better place to live. A total of 45 projects with high resident satisfaction will be promoted across five areas: ▲ Pregnancy and childbirth (4 cases) ▲ Children and youth (6 cases) ▲ Youth and seniors (10 cases) ▲ Low-income and veterans (4 cases) ▲ All residents (21 cases).
First, the voucher amount, which was 2 million won for all newborns, will be increased to 3 million won starting from the second child. Parental benefits have also been raised to 300,000 won for infants aged 0 and 150,000 won for those aged 1.
In July, a Seoul-style kids caf? where children can play safely will open. In August, the Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center (located in Doksan-dong) and the Geumpun Lifelong Learning Center (Doksan) will operate to support career exploration and lifelong learning.
▲ The ‘AI Safety Check Service’ to monitor the wellbeing of single-person households through electricity, communication, and app data ▲ ‘Startup and Job Transition School Operation’ for middle-aged residents’ reemployment ▲ ‘Senior Oriental Medicine Health Promotion Project’ to prevent dementia and improve cognitive function in seniors, among various new welfare policies will be launched.
Additionally, the district will support job-seeking youth with exam fees up to 100,000 won and provide a longevity congratulatory payment of 100,000 won to seniors reaching 95 years old. The living wage has been set at 11,436 won, an increase of 279 won from the previous year.
Moreover, a ‘dog playground’ will be created along the Anyangcheon Stream, and barefoot walking trails will be established in Mansucheon Park and the Archery Range. A public parking lot with 102 spaces will be constructed underground at Doksan 2-dong Village Park to alleviate parking difficulties. To create an eco-friendly Geumcheon, a ‘recycling exchange store’ will be introduced, and a ‘Carbon Zero Movement with Residents’ project will be promoted.
"2024 Changing Geumcheon Life" will be distributed to the district office, community service centers, and major local institutions for easy access by residents. It can also be viewed on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under the ‘Geumcheon News’ section.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon of Geumcheon-gu said, “We organized the new systems and policies by category so that residents can easily understand them,” and added, “I hope many residents will benefit from the changed district policies through ‘2024 Changing Geumcheon Life.’”
