US "Retaliatory Strikes on 85 Targets Including Iran's Quds Force in Iraq and Syria"

US Central Command: "Long-range bombers deployed... 125 precision weapons used"

The U.S. Central Command officially confirmed on the 2nd (local time) that it has launched retaliatory strikes in response to the attack on the U.S. military base in Jordan that resulted in the deaths of three U.S. service members.

The command stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that "at 4 p.m. Eastern Time, airstrikes were conducted in Iraq and Syria against the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force and affiliated militias."


The command said, "U.S. forces employed numerous aircraft, including long-range bombers that flew from the U.S. mainland, to strike more than 85 targets," adding, "Over 125 precision-guided munitions were used in the airstrikes."


The command explained, "The targeted facilities included operational command and control centers, intelligence centers, rocket, missile, and drone storage warehouses, as well as logistics and military supply chain facilities."
