Enu E Onnuri Gift Certificates Doubled Up to 20,000 Won
Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do announced that from the 2nd to the 8th of this month, it will hold a traditional market Onnuri gift certificate refund event at ‘Jungma Market’ and ‘Gwangyang Seol Market,’ hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.
The Onnuri gift certificate refund event, which has expanded from domestic seafood to include agricultural and livestock products, aims to reduce the burden on merchants preparing for the Lunar New Year holiday and to revitalize traditional markets. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries each conduct this event.
‘Jungma Market’ was selected for two public projects by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and will conduct refund events for domestic seafood and agricultural and livestock products. ‘Gwangyang Seol Market’ will promote refund events not only for domestic seafood through the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ public project but also for all product categories through its own customer appreciation event.
The eligible items include domestic seafood, with processed foods such as salted seafood products containing at least 70% domestic raw materials included. However, Zero Pay online gift certificate discount items and imported seafood are excluded. Agricultural and livestock products are also limited to domestic products.
The refund procedure remains the same as before: the seller inputs the customer’s phone number into the simple refund system, and when the customer visits the event booth within the market, the event staff verifies the customer information and refunds the Onnuri gift certificate.
At Jungma Market, based on same-day purchases of domestic seafood and agricultural and livestock products, customers spending ▲34,000 KRW or more will receive 10,000 KRW ▲68,000 KRW or more will receive 20,000 KRW in Onnuri gift certificates, each granted once per item category during the event period. Gwangyang Seol Market will apply the same refund policy to customers purchasing all product categories separately from domestic seafood.
Heo Jeong-ryang, Head of the Investment and Economy Division, said, “In a situation where visits to traditional markets have decreased due to weakened consumer sentiment, this refund event is like a blessing for the markets,” and added, “We will make every effort to promote the event so that merchants and citizens can enjoy the holiday with peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, Gwangyang City plans to take the lead in promoting the consumption of domestic seafood and agricultural and livestock products through monitoring and crackdowns on fraudulent claims such as recognizing imported purchase records as domestic, refunds for general restaurants and excluded items, duplicate support, as well as hygiene inspections.
