Samsung Electronics is expanding its promotion of passing Galaxy smartphones to children under the age of 14 to customers of the three major mobile carriers.
According to the industry on the 2nd, Samsung Electronics has extended the 'Galaxy Family Phone Program' to SK Telecom and KT users starting from that day. This program allows users to pass down their previously used Galaxy smartphones to their children as if they were new phones.
Users can participate by switching devices or transferring numbers to the new Galaxy S series, Z Flip, or Fold series smartphones, and then applying through the Galaxy Family Phone Program page on Samsung.com.
Once family linkage is confirmed, participants receive a free battery replacement coupon and a screen protector exchange voucher, which can be used within six months at any of the 173 Samsung Electronics after-service (A/S) centers nationwide.
The eligibility criterion for children to receive the parent’s phone is being under 14 years old. Eligible models for passing down include the Galaxy S21, S22, S23 series, Z Flip3, Fold3, Z Flip4, and Fold4, and the program runs until December 31.
Previously, Samsung Electronics had been operating the Galaxy Family Phone Program for LG Uplus customers since the 16th of last month.
