Hwaseong-si "Pet Registration, Free Support Provided"

Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it will implement a free pet registration support project for citizens starting this month.

This project supports embedded wireless identification devices and animal registration agency fees at participating animal hospitals, and provides support for the registration co-payment costs to pet owners. Accordingly, citizens can register their pets for free if they register using the embedded method at participating animal hospitals.

The support will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis for 2,000 animals until the end of this year, and the eligible recipients are owners with an address in Hwaseong City who own animals subject to registration (dogs or cats).

A total of 38 animal hospitals are participating in the support project this year. The list of animal hospitals can be found in the announcement section on the Hwaseong City website.

Kang Jin-woo, head of the Pet Family Division of Hwaseong City, said, "Animal registration is a basic yet important matter for establishing a pet culture," and added, "We expect this project to strengthen owners' sense of responsibility and animal protection awareness, contributing to the prevention of lost animals."
