[One Day Walk] A Stroll Around the Neighborhood Along the Park... Bucheon Dullegil Course 6

The path introduced today is the Bucheon Dullegil. It is a themed trail connecting the mountains, parks, fields, and streams on the outskirts of Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province. Among them, Course 6 is the 'Beombak-dong Circular Trail,' which is separate from the connected Courses 1 to 5 and is located around Beombak-dong. This trail links three paths created in the area: 'Beombak Mountain Trail,' 'Okgil Field Trail,' and 'Hambak Village Trail.' It connects parks developed nearby along with the Okgil Public Housing District.

[One Day Walk] A Stroll Around the Neighborhood Along the Park... Bucheon Dullegil Course 6

The starting point is the Southeast Intersection where Angok-ro and Beoman-ro cross. Uniquely, a bicycle is displayed in the middle of the intersection. This is to honor the writer Mok Il-shin, who created the well-known children's song "Bicycle," which begins with "Ddarreureung~ Ddarreureung~ Please make way." Mok was born in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do, and began living in the Sinangchon area of Beombak-dong around 1960. He lived in this area until his death in 1986 at the age of 72. To commemorate him, the area features Mok Il-shin Park and murals along the roadside depicting his works such as "Paper Airplane" and "Mailbox." Nearby schools, Ilsin Elementary School and Ilsin Middle School, are also named after him.

Starting from the intersection and entering the nearby Goean Sports Park and Utgoyan Neighborhood Park, the first trail, Beombak Mountain Trail, begins. "Utgoyan" means a village inside a valley and is the old name of Goean-dong. It consisted of three villages: Utgoyan, Junggoyan, and Araetgoyan, with Utgoyan now preserved as the name of the park.

Walking along the Dullegil, you will come across the Beombak Tunnel. The tunnel is mentioned because above it, a park with a soccer field and an outdoor stage has been created for citizens to rest. Then, entering the forest trail, the main Beombak Mountain course begins. Beombak Mountain features a loess forest trail that can be walked barefoot, which has recently become popular for reasons such as improving blood circulation.

After descending Beombak Mountain, the next destination is the Okgil Field Trail. The starting point of the Okgil Field Trail is Hambak Park. This park was created as part of the Okgil housing development and named after the old eastern place name, Hambak. Here, you can find an oak forest trail preserved to protect the original forest.

The next trail is the Hambak Village Trail. After walking the entire Okgil Field Trail and passing through the nearby villa area, the trail officially begins at Sandeul History and Culture Park, located behind Starfield City Bucheon. This park was also created as part of the Okgil housing development. It includes cultural facilities and the burial grounds of the Cheongju Han clan from the Joseon Dynasty. It is the ancestral site of the Yangdogong branch, whose founder was Han Myeong-jin, the younger brother of Han Myeong-hoe, a powerful official during King Sejo's reign. The park also contains the historical sites of the stele for Han Eon of Cheongpyeong-gun (Bucheon City Local Historic Site No. 2) and the stele for Han Jun of Cheongcheon-gun (Bucheon City Local Historic Site No. 3), along with their tombs. Following the green space from Sandeul History and Culture Park, passing Okgil-dong Catholic Church and Miso Park, and returning to the Southeast Intersection completes today's journey.
