Dong-A Socio Holdings achieved its highest-ever performance since transitioning to a holding company system in 2013.
Dong-A Socio Holdings announced on the 1st that its consolidated financial results for last year showed sales of 1.1319 trillion KRW and operating profit of 77.03 billion KRW (preliminary). Compared to 2022, sales increased by 15.4%, and operating profit rose by 11.5%, marking the highest sales and operating profit since 2013. The company analyzed, "All business subsidiaries showed balanced external growth," and "Operating profit improvement was led by Dong-A Pharmaceutical, Yongma Logistics, and STGEN Bio among the major business subsidiaries."
Dong-A Pharmaceutical, a healthcare specialist company, saw increases in sales and operating profit due to growth across all business sectors including ▲Bacchus ▲over-the-counter (OTC) drugs ▲and daily health products. Sales rose 16.2% year-on-year to 631 billion KRW. Operating profit also increased by 18.5% to 79.6 billion KRW. Among business sectors, the daily health products segment showed remarkable growth, increasing sales by 55.8 billion KRW (38.6%) to 200.3 billion KRW compared to the previous year. The Bacchus segment grew by 7.2 billion KRW (2.9%), and the OTC segment increased by 18.6 billion KRW (13.8%).
STGEN Bio, a biopharmaceutical specialist company, saw sales jump 82.6% to 50.9 billion KRW. Although it recorded an operating loss of 6.3 billion KRW, it succeeded in reducing the deficit compared to 15.7 billion KRW in 2022.
Yongma Logistics, a logistics specialist company, posted sales of 355.9 billion KRW, up 3.1%. Operating profit also surged 109.0% to 13.8 billion KRW due to effects such as increased logistics unit prices and cost ratio improvement through operational stabilization. Dongchunsu, a bottled water specialist company, recorded sales of 34 billion KRW and an operating loss of 1.4 billion KRW.
Meanwhile, affiliate ST Pharm also announced its results for last year on the same day. Sales were 284.14 billion KRW, and operating profit was 33.435 billion KRW, representing a 19.3% increase in sales and an 87.3% increase in operating profit compared to 2022.
